MercadoLibre operating expenses 2018-2023, by type
operating expenses incurred by MercadoLibre, Inc. increased by 30.4 percent from 2022 to 2023. However, the spending growth varied in type. In 2023, Mercado Libre's sales and marketing-related expenses amounted to over 1.7 billion U.S. dollars, around 34 percent more than the previous year. Meanwhile, the total spent on general and administrative resources increased by approximately 16 percent and reached 766 million dollars in 2023. That same year, Mercado Libre's product and technology development-related expenses grew by 66.6 percent and totaled more than 1.8 billion dollars.
On average, the
